Hodthorpe and Belph is a small Parish with a population of approx. 800, in the District of Bolsover and the county of Derbyshire. The villages of Hodthorpe and Belph are set in beautiful rural surroundings, close to Clumber Park, Sherwood Forest and the Welbeck Estate.
Hodthorpe is a small friendly village founded back in 1804 to accommodate the influx of workers to the area, following the sinking of the mine shaft in the neighbouring Whitwell village. Belph is a pretty hamlet, part of the Welbeck Estate. It is made up of two areas, Belph Village and Penny Green with a babbling brook running through it.
