Interested in Your Community? Become a Parish Councillor!
Would you like to have a say in what happens in Hodthorpe and Belph? Do you care about local services, green spaces, and representing the views of residents?
Hodthorpe and Belph Parish Council is looking for enthusiastic, community-minded residents who are interested in becoming Parish Councillors.
What Does a Parish Councillor Do?
Parish councillors are local volunteers who help shape decisions that affect our villages. They work together to:
-
Represent the interests of residents
-
Support local services and community projects
-
Comment on planning applications
-
Help look after things like allotments, benches, and public spaces
-
Work with district and county councils on bigger issues
You don’t need any special qualifications – just a passion for your community, a willingness to listen and speak up, and a bit of time each month to attend meetings.
Who Can Apply?
You can become a parish councillor if you are:
-
At least 18 years old
-
A British citizen
-
A resident of Hodthorpe or Belph (or live within 3 miles of the parish boundary)
-
Not disqualified from holding office (e.g. for bankruptcy or criminal convictions)
